Scouting Report
Had tremendous size for the catching position and generated a lot of power at the plate when he connected. Improved his game-calling skills over time. Was solid vs. left-handed pitching. Was never a great hitter for average and struck out too much in the big leagues. Lacked footwork and optimum receiving skills behind the plate; he was a bit stiff back there.
Long Range Potential: Solid catcher.
