Had excellent receiving and game-calling skills. Also displayed home-run power and run-producing ability. Owned a stocky frame, which is usually preferred for the catching position. Lacked consistency as a game caller. Dealt with significant injuries throughout his professional career and ultimately cut his Major League Baseball days short.
