Mitchell's contract was selected by the Marlins on Thursday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Scouting Report
Has great stuff, especially his plus curveball (his best pitch). His fastball is also a quality offering, giving up the arsenal to dominate batters regularly. Can both start and relieve. Lacks a bit of command with his pitches, as well as overall control. Also, he needs to improve his mechanics as well as work on his consistency in order to maximize output in the bigs.
Long Range Potential: Versatile right-hander with a little upside.
