Stephenson will undergo surgery on his right elbow, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.
Stephenson's (shoulder) removal from a rehab appearance over the weekend was due to right elbow soreness, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Owns an excellent fastball-curve combination, which leads to plenty of strikeouts at lower levels. His changeup is also a decent complementary pitch. His delivery is smooth and clean. Needs to learn to become more pitcher than thrower in certain key situations, and generally work on his consistency. At times he tends to rely too heavily on his fastball.
Long Range Potential: Talented right-hander (when healthy).
