A very solid blocker, he was big, long and strong: he possessed ideal all-round NFL tight end size and used it well (with excellent physicality). He additionally flashed large, soft hands and fluid athleticism, helping him make tough catches. He brought solid long speed for his size and could bowl over defenders. He was not explosive or elusive after the catch, limiting his ability to gain big yardage. While physical and massive, he did not maul as a blocker and did not always show ideal intensity or technical polish. Did not always get the most out of his excellent physical tools.
