Taylor signed a one-year contract with the 49ers on Tuesday, Lindsey Pallares of the team's official site reports.
The 49ers activated Taylor (undisclosed) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, per the league's official transactions report.
The speedy, sub-6-footer occupies a tenuous niche as a short-range possession receiver and outlet option. Creative in finding routes to open space, he is also adept at reading coverage. Protects the ball well with his body and is a tough runner after the catch. His prolific college career was highlighted by a stupendous senior year in which he led the nation in receiving yardage and was second in total receptions. Presents a small target and catch radius; he must offset his size deficit with strength gains and advanced football intellect.
Long Range Potential: Backup wide receiver and punt returner.
