Was a prolific, relenteless and high-motor tackler. Owned outstanding speed and made plays in pursuit from sideline to sideline. Was highly disciplined and instinctive reading offenses, and excellent in pass coverage. Could play either inside or outside linebacker. Durability was a regular concern throughout his career in the National Football League, in part due to his mix of high-energy, physical play and average size. His intensity sometimes spilled over, on and off the field. Was not much of a factor on the pass rush.
