Was highly dependable and durable as an outlet target. Brought a combination of ideal tight end size and soft hands as a receiver. Also was a strong blocker, especially in the running game. Brought a truly professional approach and demeanor, which made him a team leader. Was not much of a big-play threat: lacked the explosiveness, speed and fluidity to stretch the defense and pile up major yardage. His average athleticism also limited his end-zone ability to some extent (though he still managed to score his fair share of touchdowns in the NFL).
