Had good athleticism and quickness for his massive frame. Also possessed good instincts. Was a weapon in the mid-range passing game. Also got solid yardage after the catch in the NFL. Was not a top athlete or an elite blocking tight end. Dropped his share of passes. Was not a speedster. Ran some specific routes well but did not vary them enough. Was a bit predictable.
