TRAIL BLAZERS TRADE FOR TRENT JR.
The Portland Trail Blazers acquired the draft rights to shooting guard Gary Trent Jr. from the Sacramento Kings for two future 2nd-round draft picks and cash.
What does it give the Portland Trail Blazers
Trent Jr. was a second-round pick this year (No. 37 overall) but he is seen by some as a first-round talent. He's also a very solid scoring wing, and since Portland needs more wing scoring this is a nice move by the Blazers.
What does it give the Sacramento Kings
The talent-starved Kings can use a player with Trent Jr.'s skills, but they instead move him here for two future second-rounders. It's not a bad move on paper, but it's hard to see this making the team better.
Fantasy impact
Trent Jr. has the perimeter shooting ability the Blazers lost some of when Allen Crabbe left for Brooklyn last year. Expect him to be in the mix for some starts in the coming campaign, but don't expect too much more from him in fantasy than good 3-point production (at least in Year 1).
