CLEVELAND'S KORVER COMING TO UTAH

The Utah Jazz acquired forward/guard Kyle Korver from the Cleveland Cavaliers for guard Alec Burks, a second-round draft pick in 2020 and a second-round draft pick in 2021.

What does it give the Utah Jazz
The Jazz are really struggling so far in 2018-19, so the hope here is that veteran three-point specialist Korver can inject some life and provide quality scoring off the bench. The 37-year-old Korver will likely back up both small forward Joe Ingles and shooting guard Donovan Mitchell in Utah. While this deal should help Utah, Korver is hardly the missing piece here, as more help is required.

What does it give the Cleveland Cavaliers
For the 4-win Cavaliers, this move was a no-brainer. Korver was not seeing many minutes on a rebuilding squad, so Cleveland shipped him to Utah in exchange for Burks and two future second rounders. The 27-year-old Burks was drafted in the first round in 2011 but has been mostly coming off the bench in Utah since 2014-15. He will look for a fresh start in Cleveland. This is a good deal for the Cavs.

Fantasy impact
Burks was buried behind Mitchell in Utah, so this deal may help salvage whatever fantasy value he still holds. Playing behind former Jazz teammate Rodney Hood and Jordan Clarkson now with the Cavs, Burks is still not in a great situation (and perhaps he never will be again). As for Korver, he will provide occasional spark off the bench but is no longer a viable fantasy option.
