LAKERS REEL IN REGGIE BULLOCK

The Los Angeles Lakers acquired guard/forward Reggie Bullock from the Detroit Pistons for guard/forward Svi Mykhailiuk and a second-round draft pick in 2021.

What does it give the Los Angeles Lakers
In Bullock, the Lakers add a wing player who can shoot the 3-ball (which is invaluable for a team constantly searching for more shooters). In all likelihood, he will come off the bench in Los Angeles and provide scoring punch to the second unit. Bullock should become a solid addition to the LeBron James-led Lakers.

What does it give the Detroit Pistons
For Detroit, landing the underutilized Mykhailiuk may become a coup with time. He is a sharp-shooting wing player with some athleticism and plenty of youth (he turns 22 in June). The Pistons will also be getting a second rounder from LA in this deal, so this trade works for everyone involved.

Fantasy impact
While Mykhailiuk has plenty to gain from this trade, Bullock may suffer coming off the Lakers bench (especially if they do not trade anyone else from the current roster). For now, both players do not need to be picked up in most standard leagues. Take a wait-and-see approach with both players.
