KINGS DEAL DELON WRIGHT TO ATLANTA
In a three-team trade, the Atlanta Hawks acquired guard Delon Wright from the Sacramento Kings; Sacramento acquired center/forward Tristan Thompson from the Boston Celtics; and Boston acquired guard Kris Dunn, center/forward Bruno Fernando and a second-round draft pick in 2023 from the Hawks.
What does it give the Atlanta Hawks
For the Hawks, Wright should be a solid addition to the team's bench. He is versatile enough to back up Trae Young at the point and also play off the ball with Young also on the court.
What does it give the Sacramento Kings
In Thompson, the Kings get a veteran leader and defensive presence in the paint area. His arrival creates quite a logjam in terms of bigs, though. Expect more moves by the Kings.
What does it give the Boston Celtics
The Celtics were able to get some depth in the form of backup point guard Dunn and backup big man Fernando with this trade. They also got back a future second-rounder in '23 from Atlanta. Not a bad haul.
Fantasy impact
None of Wright, Thompson, Dunn or Fernando are solid fantasy options at this point. Perhaps Wright and Thompson could be considerations in the deepest of fantasy basketball leagues, but that is about it.
