The Brooklyn Nets acquired guard Edmond Sumner and a second-round draft pick in 2025 from the Indiana Pacers for guard/forward Juan Pablo Vaulet.
What does it give the Brooklyn Nets
This deal was made so that Brooklyn could add a future second-round draft pick, since Sumner is out for all of 2021-22 (Achilles) and may never suit up for the Nets.
What does it give the Indiana Pacers
Indiana shed some salary with this trade and were able to get under the luxury tax by sending Sumner to Brooklyn. Vaulet is unlikely to ever come over to the NBA.
Fantasy impact
Sumner is unlikely to play for the Nets, even beyond 2021-22, so he does not need to be picked up and/or placed in reserve in virtually all fantasy formats.
