JaMYCHAL GREEN GOES TO OKC
The Oklahoma City Thunder acquired forward/center JaMychal Green and a protected first-round draft pick in 2027 from the Denver Nuggets for a first-round draft pick in 2022 (Peyton Watson), a second-round draft pick in 2023 and a second-round draft pick in 2024.
What does it give the Oklahoma City Thunder
In Green, the Thunder get some badly-needed experience for a relatively young squad. Green will likely come off the bench for Oklahoma City, probably as a backup big man at both the power forward and center positions. OKC also received a first-round pick in '27 with this deal. That pick is protected.
What does it give the Denver Nuggets
The Nuggets did well here by moving out some salary in the form of Green, who was a solid backup for Denver. In return, they received three draft picks, including a late first-round pick in this year's draft (which they used to select forward Peyton Watson). He is probably a long-range prospect at this time.
Fantasy impact
Green's minutes may go up moving from Denver to OKC, although his fantasy impact should remain limited. He is mostly a decent source of rebounds. As for Watson, he should only be a draft consideration in deep keeper leagues.
