GORDON GOES BACK TO THE CLIPPERS

In a three-team trade, the Los Angeles Clippers acquired forward/guard Eric Gordon from the Houston Rockets, and three future second-round draft picks from the Memphis Grizzlies; Memphis acquired forward/guard Luke Kennard from the Clippers; and Houston acquired guard John Wall and a protected right to swap draft picks from the Clippers, and forward/guard Danny Green from the Grizzlies.

What does it give the Los Angeles Clippers
In Gordon, the Clippers get a quality veteran shooter and leader who should complement LA's bench perfectly well. He was originally drafted by the Clips and now returns home. He is a big upgrade over Kennard, who tends to run hot and cold.

What does it give the Memphis Grizzlies
The Grizzlies hope Kennard can find his shooting groove down the stretch. He is younger and less fragile than Green, the player he is replacing on the roster. Kennard is not a lock to see quality minutes in Memphis, though. He is a bit of a wild card.

What does it give the Houston Rockets
The Rockets did Gordon a solid by moving him to a contender after years of yeoman service. Neither Wall nor Green is expected to remain with the Rockets; both could be waived after the trade deadline. Houston is a young team that now lacks quality vets.

Fantasy impact
None of Gordon, Kennard, Wall or Green should be locks to be picked up in most formats. Keep an eye on where Wall and Green end up before making a commitment. Gordon's playing time may go down on a deep Clippers squad.
