WENDELL MOORE MOVED TO MOTOWN

In a four-team trade, the Detroit Pistons acquired guard/forward Wendell Moore Jr. and a second-round draft pick in 2024 (No. 37 overall) from the Minnesota Timberwolves; Minnesota acquired a future second-round draft pick and cash considerations from the Toronto Raptors; the Memphis Grizzlies acquired a second-round draft pick in 2024 (No. 53 overall) from the Timberwolves; and Toronto acquired a second-round draft pick in 2024 (No. 57 overall).

What does it give the Detroit Pistons
The Pistons are rebuilding (again), so they need all the assets they can muster at this point. Moore Jr. and a better second-rounder should help them, but they need a lot more than this.

What does it give the Minnesota Timberwolves
Minnesota is close to the top contenders in the league, but they need to shed some salary. Therefore, they moved out Moore and dropped a few places in the draft this year for that purpose.

What does it give the Memphis Grizzlies
For Memphis, adding a second-round pick just to be included in this complicated trade seems like a win. After a disappointing '23-24 campaign, the Grizzlies will look to get back to contention.

What does it give the Toronto Raptors
The Raptors used the No. 57 overall draft selection to take center Ulrich Chomche. However, they wound up trading the pick to Minnesota to complete this transaction.
