GRIZZ LANDS POINT-MAN HARRISON IN DRAFT TRADE FOR LEUER
The Memphis Grizzlies acquired point guard Andrew Harrison (drafted No. 44 overall) from the Phoenix Suns for center-forward Jon Leuer.
What does it give the Memphis Grizzlies
Harrison has a chance to eventually be a solid pro point guard (if not necessarily a star and / or starter) and the still-contending Grizz need depth behind Mike Conley (since they're facing some losses in free agency). Getting Harrison for the little-used Leuer is a minor steal here for Memphis.
What does it give the Phoenix Suns
The Suns already have a glut of guards on their small-ball roster, so moving Harrison (whom they clearly knew Memphis wanted) makes sense--especially since they get a needed big man in Leuer. While Leuer isn't a star, he's a skilled post player who can help Phoenix shore up its frontcourt with solid depth. He's also a good shooter, which is something the Suns covet in their big men.
Fantasy impact
As neither Harrison nor Leuer is expected to play a major role for his new team in 2015-16, there's likely little fantasy impact for either in the coming campaign. That said, Harrison is worth keeping on the sleeper keeper radar for future seasons; and Leuer should see at least a bit more opportunity with Phoenix than he did with Memphis.
