BEARS GO BIG, TRADE FOR KHALIL MACK!

The Chicago Bears acquired linebacker/defensive end Khalil Mack, a second-round draft pick in 2020 and a conditional fifth-round draft pick in 2020 from the Oakland Raiders for a first-round draft pick in 2019, a sixth-round draft pick in 2019, a first-round draft pick in 2020 and a third-round draft pick in 2020.

What does it give the Chicago Bears
Wow! In Mack, Chicago lands arguably the best edge rusher in the game today. It is not every day that players of Mack's ilk are available for trade, so kudos to the Bears for stepping up and landing a huge piece for their defense. With Mack and Leonard Floyd on the edges, Chicago has a chance to become a dominant defense. This was a master stroke by the Bears.

What does it give the Las Vegas Raiders
This was one of the most puzzling trades in NFL history, mainly because it is very rare for a team to give up on a superstar player because of a contract dispute. However, the Raiders under Jon Gruden are clearly trying to establish a new identity. The draft picks acquired are a massive haul, collectively, but Oakland is now a significantly worse team without Mack.

Fantasy impact
Mack's fantasy value remains strong, and it might even receive a boost in Chicago, since he is book-ended nicely by Floyd. Chicago's overall defense is now a better fantasy factor in leagues this year, while several other individual defensive players on the Bears could see a spike in value too. The opposite is now true in Oakland, across the board.
