AARON RODGERS JOINS THE JETS!

The New York Jets acquired quarterback Aaron Rodgers, a first-round draft pick in 2023 (No. 15 overall) and a fifth-round draft pick in 2023 (No. 170 overall) from the Green Bay Packers for a first-round draft pick in 2023 (No. 13 overall), a second-round draft pick in 2023 (No. 42 overall), a sixth-round draft pick in 2023 (No. 207) and a conditional second-round draft pick in 2024.

What does it give the New York Jets
The Jets are getting one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, which is news for Gang Green. New York has struggled seemingly for an eternity to find, draft, develop and/or land a franchise quarterback. At least for one season (and perhaps two or more), they will have just that in Rodgers. The Jets are a young team with plenty of talent, so this can only be looked upon as a successful move by a club constantly seeking legitimacy and relevance.

What does it give the Green Bay Packers
The Packers had no choice but to move on from Rodgers, but they probably felt it was time to move on anyway. Jordan Love takes over as the new starter, while the pick swap in Round 1 this year, the 42nd overall pick this year and next year's conditional pick should all be used to help Green Bay move into a new era. If Rodgers plays 65% of all snaps with the Jets in 2023, the conditional second-rounder next year will become a first--is this the key to the deal?

Fantasy impact
Rodgers is definitely aging, but a bounce-back campaign with renewed energy on a young, up-and-coming roster could do wonders for the twilight of his NFL career. He remains a recommendable (early) draft option in the majority of leagues. As for Love, he has decent value as a new NFL starting quarterback. That said, his lack of weaponry in Green Bay limits his breakout potential for 2023. The biggest loser after this trade is obviously Zach Wilson, who becomes an afterthought in New York and a possible trade candidate as a reclamation project.
