ELIJAH MOORE MOVED TO CLEVELAND
The Cleveland Browns acquired wide receiver Elijah Moore and a third-round draft pick in 2023 (No. 74 overall) from the New York Jets for a second-round draft pick in 2023 (No. 42 overall).
What does it give the Cleveland Browns
A second-round pick in 2021, Moore had requested a trade during the 2022 season. He has shown glimpses of what he can be, but has yet to establish himself. Part of that was because of the quarterbacks throwing him the ball. He will get to play with a much better QB in Deshaun Watson, so Cleveland hopes that will unlock his potential.
What does it give the New York Jets
This move seemed inevitable for the Jets with the signings of WRs Allen Lazard and Mecole Hardman in free agency. New York gets to move up 32 spots in the draft while revamping their wide receiver corps. This also gives the Jets more proven players for QB Aaron Rodgers to hopefully target next season, when the latter's trade from Green Bay finally gets completed.
Fantasy impact
There is no guarantee Moore breaks out in Cleveland, so fantasy managers should look at him as a high-upside WR4 or WR5 until his role with the Browns is firmly established. Keep an eye on him throughout training camp.
