SWIFT SENT TO THE EAGLES

The Philadelphia Eagles acquired running back D'Andre Swift and a seventh-round draft pick in 2023 (No. 249 overall) from the Detroit Lions for a seventh-round draft pick in 2023 (No. 219 overall) and a fourth-round draft pick in 2025.

What does it give the Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles did well to add a true playmaking running back in Swift, who will likely be used in a variety of ways in Philadelphia. He will probably share the backfield with fellow newcomer Rashaad Penny and others.

What does it give the Detroit Lions
After selecting talented running back Jahmyr Gibbs in the first round of this year's draft, the Lions decided to part ways with Swift. The latter showed flashes of awesome potential but also frustrated Detroit. Each side gets a fresh start.

Fantasy impact
Swift's fantasy value remains very high. He shared time with Jamaal Williams in Detroit last season, and was going to be in an even bigger time share had he remained with the Lions. Do not go crazy when drafting Swift but there is an argument for picking Swift up before Penny in some league formats in 2023.
