DESMOND RIDDER FOR RONDALE MOORE
The Arizona Cardinals acquired quarterback Desmond Ridder from the Atlanta Falcons for wide receiver Rondale Moore.
What does it give the Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals have Kyler Murray as their starting quarterback, plus second-year signal caller Clayton Tune in reserve. Ridder should slide in between them and serve as Arizona's backup for the immediate future. He needs to bounce back and change the narrative on his NFL career, so this trade should be welcomed by him with open arms.
What does it give the Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons were able to trade away Ridder, who failed as the team's starting quarterback and precipitated the acquisition of veteran Kirk Cousins via free agency this week, while also adding an important piece to the offense in slot receiver Moore. Cousins now has Drake London, Darnell Mooney, tight end Kyle Pitts and Moore as targets. Nice!
Fantasy impact
Moore's fantasy stock is on the rise, simply because Cousins is a more accurate pocket passer than Murray. That said, he is no better than a third option in Atlanta. Therefore, temper expectations a bit. As for Ridder, a new start should be good for him. That said, he is no more than a deep keeper lottery ticket at this stage of his NFL career.
