BEARS BRING IN KEENAN ALLEN
The Chicago Bears acquired wide receiver Keenan Allen from the Los Angeles Chargers for a fourth-round draft pick in 2024 (No. 110 overall).
What does it give the Chicago Bears
It is an unexpected move for the Bears, but Allen provides them with another elite wide receiver alongside DJ Moore. The longtime Charger is now 31 but has shown no signs of slowing down. Allen should be a productive secondary target for whomever is Chicago's starting quarterback in 2024.
What does it give the Los Angeles Chargers
For the Chargers, it is the end of an era with Allen as their star wide receiver. He was in the final year of his contract, and this was clearly a move to create cap space. The return for Allen is underwhelming but the Bears were at least able to get a draft pick back and move forward. LA will be far different in 2024.
Fantasy impact
Allen's fantasy value takes a hit here, as he should see fewer targets in Chicago. His new quarterback will also be a downgrade from Justin Herbert, no matter who it is. Still, Allen remains a decent fantasy option at wide receiver. He also gives a boost to the Bears' starting quarterback.
