What does it give the Kansas City Chiefs
In Kansas City, Thomas should play 4-3 defensive end as an edge rusher (if he makes the team over time). The Chiefs clearly felt the need to add more depth along their defensive line.
What does it give the Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals were obviously comfortable letting Thomas go before cut-down day. They managed to get back a last-round draft pick in next year's draft, which is the expected return here.
