DEADLINE DEJA VU FOR MOTTE

The New York Rangers acquired winger Tyler Motte from the Ottawa Senators for winger Julien Gauthier and a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2023.

What does it give the New York Rangers
Just like last season towards the trade deadline, the Rangers have picked Motte up to play on the fourth line. He will once again bring his high-energy, physical game to New York, and likely rejoin the penalty kill.

What does it give the Ottawa Senators
In Gauthier, the Senators are getting a younger bottom-six forward. He is a big body who skates well for his size, and plays a straight-line game. The conditional seventh-rounder can become a sixth in '23 if New York advances past round 1.

Fantasy impact
There is no fantasy impact with this trade, as both players are bottom-six wingers who do not move the needle in fantasy hockey.
