The San Jose Sharks acquired winger Carl Grundstrom from the Los Angeles Kings for defenseman Kyle Burroughs.
What does it give the San Jose Sharks
This is a nice move by Sharks GM Mike Grier. Grundstrom is a pending restricted free agent, so Grier has a few days to see what Grundstrom's asking price is. Grundstrom is a heavy winger for a bottom-six forward role. He is a good get.
What does it give the Los Angeles Kings
Burroughs is mostly a depth defenseman. He has a positive attitude and is always a hard worker, but his talent is quite limited. He is a right-shooting defender who is likely going to be LA's No. 7 defenseman in 2024-25.
