ANAHEIM ADDS FABBRI

The Anaheim Ducks acquired winger Robby Fabbri and a conditional fourth-round draft pick in 2025 from the Detroit Red Wings for goaltender Gage Alexander.

What does it give the Anaheim Ducks
Fabbri provides the Ducks with a quality winger who can play up and down the lineup. The 28-year-old is often limited by injuries, but he did skate in 68 games with the Red Wings last season (his most since 2014-15). A good finisher, Fabbri should fit right in with Anaheim's young playmaking forwards. He has a $4 million cap hit this season, and taking that on also helped the Ducks get a draft pick.

What does it give the Detroit Red Wings
Detroit chose to trade Fabbri after signing winger Vladimir Tarasenko. They did not get a lot in return. Alexander, 22, is a 6-6 goaltending prospect drafted by the Ducks in 2021. His development took a step back last season, however, as he spent the year in the ECHL. That came after an unimpressive first stint in the AHL. Likely, Alexander will only provide organizational depth in goal.

Fantasy impact
Fabbri remains a risky pick in fantasy leagues. Anaheim may rely on him for more offense, but that is no guarantee. Furthermore, his health is always a concern. He can be drafted in very deep formats, but proceed with caution in most leagues.
