Peralta signed a minor-league contract with the Pirates on Wednesday that includes an invitation to spring training, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
Scouting Report
Is very thick-bodied, so he generates a lot of power in his delivery. Generally keeps the ball down in the strike zone. Has pretty good strikeout ability. Can also break a lot of bats and jam hitters. Fields his position well. Gets into trouble when he starts walking too many batters, so he must do a better job of keeping his focus when on the mound. Lacks consistency, so his command could stand to improve so as to maximize output.
Long Range Potential: Inconsistent right-hander.
