Scouting Report
Had a fantastic eye at the plate, plus both power and the ability to drive in plenty of runs. Did not strike out a lot, relative to his walks. Could also play first base. Injuries were an issue for him, mostly caused by the wear and tear of the catching position, so his receiving skills diminished a bit over time and led to a slight decline in production. Was a tremendous clutch performer and a true leader on the field. After a mid-career slide, he turned things around and put up strong numbers again late in his MLB career.
