Wittgren signed a contract with the Mariners on Sunday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
Scouting Report
Has an ideal pitchers' frame and plenty of experience saving games at lower levels. His deceptive delivery is a key to his success. Throws strikes with regularity. Does not have optimum, 'big-league closer' stuff. His breaking ball is only average, which might hurt his chances of closing ball games at the highest level.
Long Range Potential: Solid reliever with a little upside.
