NICK HEATH HEADS TO ARIZONA
The Arizona Diamondbacks acquired outfielder Nick Heath from the Kansas City Royals for pitcher Eduardo Herrera.
What does it give the Arizona Diamondbacks
The Diamondbacks have injury issues in the outfield, so adding Heath at this time makes some sense. The 27-year-old Heath will serve as outfield depth for Arizona but is not expected to play regularly.
What does it give the Kansas City Royals
Since Heath had been designated for assignment recently, the Royals did well to land a future asset here in Herrera, a 21-year-old reliever who might eventually become part of Kansas City's bullpen.
There is not fantasy impact after this trade, as Heath is expected to serve a bench role in Arizona and Herrera is a few years away from challenging for a spot in the KC bullpen.
