Lehner (hip) will begin the 2023-24 campaign on long-term injured reserve, Golden Knights GM Kelly McCrimmon told Ben Gotz of the Las Vegas Review-Journal on Thursday.
Lehner (hip) is not listed on the Golden Knights' training camp roster.
Takes up a lot of net just because he is one of the NHL's largest goaltenders. Excels at holding his ground, is tough to dislodge in scrambles and has more quickness than his size would suggest. Will occasionally get sloppy with his rebound control and does not always recover quickly after allowing a goal he feels he should have stopped. Has terrible history in shootouts. He consistently misses pieces of seasons with injuries, so he is somewhat unreliable.
Long Range Potential: Top-level goaltender (when healthy).
