Urshela agreed to a one-year, $6.55 million contract with the Yankees on Tuesday to avoid arbitration, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
Urshela will bat seventh and play third base in Tuesday's wild-card matchup against the Red Sox.
Is an outstanding defender at the hot corner, thanks to an excellent throwing arm and soft hands. Can also hit with power and get on base via the walk with some regularity. Plays several infield positions. Strikes out a bit too much and has a tendency to run hot and cold with the stick. Also needs to become a more consistent source for power and run production in order to maximize output in MLB.
Long Range Potential: Utility infielder.
