The Panthers signed Dalton on a two-year, $8 million contract extension Tuesday.
Dalton completed 106 of his 160 pass attempts for 989 yards, seven touchdowns and six interceptions over six regular-season games in 2024. He also rushed 11 times for 34 yards and lost two fumbles.
First and foremost a terrific team leader who brings superb qualities to the field and the locker room: a good arm, great passing accuracy, solid game-calling skills, and above-average overall quarterbacking tools. Capable of carrying his team with his arm. Works to improve. Must show he can consistently play his best football when it matters most (that is, in big games). Neither a towering pocket presence nor a speedy scrambler, factors contributing to his tendency to get sacked too much.
Long Range Potential: Solid star quarterback.
