The Kraken will not buy out Grubauer's contract after a poor statistical season, reports the Seattle Times.

Scouting Report
The German goaltender is still trying to prove he can be effective as a 50-plus game NHL starter. He is a good athlete and has had success as part of a tandem, despite bouts with injuries and inconsistency. Has played well behind a strong team, and he is capable of stealing games. Ideally, he should be a tandem goaltender on a team with a solid second option who can play 30-40 games.
Long Range Potential: Solid veteran goaltender.
