Matthews delivered two assists in Friday's 5-4 overtime loss against the Panthers in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Matthews scored a goal on two shots in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Hurricanes. He also added two hits and two blocked shots.
The dynamic center continues to make life miserable for goaltenders thanks to one of the deadliest shots in the NHL. Is big and strong, and he knows how to use his strength to score goals. His shot continues to improve as his body and overall game mature. He is learning to handle the tight checking and physical play that comes with being one of the NHL's elite scorers. His play away from the puck keeps getting better, and he is among the NHL's most dangerous players with the puck on his stick.
