Strus (hip) is expected to miss at least six weeks of action due to an ankle sprain he suffered during a workout Thursday, Tom Withers of the Associated Press reports.
Strus (hip) is expected to be ready for game action by Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Raptors, and he is now cleared to participate in on-court, non-contact, full-speed workouts, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
The Illinois native was a standout in his two seasons at DePaul University (prior to that, he played at Lewis University for two years from 2014-16) and finished his senior season averaging 20 points per game. At 6'6", he has good height for a wingman. Can shoot the three-pointer and is a solid scoring option, overall. Is not an elite athlete at the highest level, so he needs to continue to work on moving his feet and his defensive positioning.
Long Range Potential: Solid wing player with some upside.
