The Texans elevated Taylor from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Taylor had six carries for 18 yards and failed to catch his only target in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Jaguars in Week 4.
A severely undersized runner, he boasts a muscular frame and good all-around ball skills. Demonstrated workhorse traits in college as a tackle-breaking, lead back; he has the thick, powerful trunk and lower body strength to withstand heavy contact and maintain balance. Is a capable receiver on release routes, screens and dump-offs and creates gains in space. Lacks breakaway speed to become a changeup option in the pros; his short stature is a handicap on blocking assignments and ball security is also a concern.
Long Range Potential: Multidimensional, utility running back with upside.
