BRAVES ACQUIRE RHP JOSH COLLMENTER

The Atlanta Braves acquired pitcher Josh Collmenter from the Chicago Cubs for cash.

What does it give the Atlanta Braves
While the Braves are rebuilding, they do have a keen eye on next season in particular (since they are opening their new ball park in 2017). Collmenter, a versatile 30-year-old right-hander, might be a part of the team moving forward.

What does it give the Chicago Cubs
The Cubs have too many options both for their starting rotation and bullpen this season, so they felt comfortable trading away Collmenter at this time. The right-hander never got a chance to pitch in Chicago during his time as a Cub.

Fantasy impact
Collmenter will probably used in a swing role for the Braves, so he does not carry much fantasy value on the young, rebuilding squad.
