MARINERS ACQUIRE LEFTY JAMES PAZOS
The Seattle Mariners acquired pitcher James Pazos from the New York Yankees for pitcher Zack Littell.
What does it give the Seattle Mariners
Seattle could use Pazos as their top left-hander out of the bullpen next season, provided the 25-year-old cracks the roster on Opening Day. Pazos struggled with the Yankees in 2016 but dominated at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
What does it give the New York Yankees
The Yankees land a pitcher with more upside in the 21-year-old Littell, who has a chance to become a starter in MLB down the road. He has projectable size and a good arm but is still several years away from reaching the Bronx.
Fantasy impact
Pazos could be a decent source for holds in Seattle, but his overall fantasy value is middling. Littell should be on the fantasy radar now, but he is too far away from being a solid addition in keeper leagues at this time.
