BREWERS DEAL FOR ORIOLES PITCHER DRAKE

The Milwaukee Brewers acquired pitcher Oliver Drake from the Baltimore Orioles for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

What does it give the Milwaukee Brewers
The Brewers hope Drake can provide them with decent innings in middle relief this season. The 30-year-old veteran can pitch more than one inning of relief at a time, which should help keep him in MLB (if he pitches well) in 2017.

What does it give the Baltimore Orioles
The Orioles decided to designate Drake for assignment in anticipation of making other moves for bullpen help, so they were at least able to get back a potential prospect in return for Drake's services. The O's have better options.

Fantasy impact
Drake has some strikeout ability, but he is more of a middle or long reliever than late-inning option (at least for now). Therefore, he will carry very little fantasy value now that he is in Milwaukee.
