ROX, CUBS SWAP MINOR-LEAGUE PITCHERS
The Colorado Rockies acquired pitcher Zac Rosscup from the Chicago Cubs for pitcher Matt Carasiti.
What does it give the Colorado Rockies
The Rockies are in contention in the National League West this season, so adding another potential left-hander for their bullpen makes a lot of sense at this time. Rosscup has the ability to strike a lot of batters out, which was surly the appeal here.
What does it give the Chicago Cubs
The Cubs have not been able to find the magic of 2016 so far this season, but they remain in contention. Still, after designating Rosscup for assignment recently, they were at least able to land a decent depth reliever in the form of the younger Carasiti.
Fantasy impact
Neither Rosscup nor Carasiti has much in the way of fantasy value at present time. Neither should be trusted until they prove themselves more in the big leagues.
