TEXAS TAKES MIGUEL GONZALEZ FROM CHISOX

The Texas Rangers acquired pitcher Miguel Gonzalez from the Chicago White Sox for infielder Ti'Quan Forbes.

What does it give the Texas Rangers
In Gonzalez, the Rangers land a pretty decent starting option for their stretch drive (and a replacement for Yu Darvish, who was traded to the Dodgers last month). Texas is currently four games out of a Wild Card berth and needed the rotation help, clearly.

What does it give the Chicago White Sox
Forbes, a former shortstop, is plenty athletic and versatile. However, he has yet to show much with the bat since turning pro in 2014. The 21-year-old is still a decent addition in exchange for a journeyman pitcher (Gonzalez) whose value may never be higher.

Fantasy impact
Buyer beware on Gonzalez, as he moves from Chicago to Texas (a notorious home-run haven in the American League). He has a better chance for victories, but his numbers could get ugly in Arlington. As for Forbes, he is not a big fantasy factor at this point. He needs to do more in order to get on the radar.
