What does it give the Atlanta Braves
In Carle, the Braves add a pitcher who can both start and relieve. He might still have some untapped upside, too, since he will only turn 27 in late August. Look for Carle to push for a spot as a swingman in spring training.
What does it give the Pittsburgh Pirates
The Pirates had designated Carle for assignment recently, so they did well to at least get back a future asset or some cash in this transaction. Carle only made three appearances with the Colorado Rockies last season.
Fantasy impact
There is nothing to see here, as Carle will not make enough of a dent in the fantasy baseball world to become a draft or in-season consideration.
