ORIOLES ADD CATCHING DEPTH WITH SUSAC
The Baltimore Orioles acquired catcher Andrew Susac from the Milwaukee Brewers for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
What does it give the Baltimore Orioles
This is a good pickup for the Orioles, since Susac is still only 27 years old (he turns 28 next month) and was a former top prospect with the San Francisco Giants. Now with his third organization, Susac has a good chance to break camp with Baltimore this spring.
What does it give the Milwaukee Brewers
The Brewers had designated Susac for assignment recently, so they at least did well to gain an asset for his services. Milwaukee has veteran catchers Stephen Vogt, Manny Pina and Jett Bandy in the fold, plus prospect Jacob Nottingham is also in the picture.
Fantasy impact
Susac does not have a lot of fantasy value even if he wins a job with Baltimore this spring. That's because the Orioles' catcher of the future--Chance Sisco--could be ready to take over starting duties at some point in 2018.
