YANKEES YANK ASCHE AWAY FROM KC

The New York Yankees acquired infielder/outfielder Cody Asche from the Kansas City Royals for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

What does it give the New York Yankees
In Asche, the Yankees add more organizational depth (and yet another home-run hitter, this time from the left side of the plate). Asche can play on the infield and outfield corners, as well as serve as a DH, so he may find his way back to the major leagues before the end of 2018).

What does it give the Kansas City Royals
The Royals had signed Asche to a minor-league contract during the off-season. However, he was unable to win a job during spring training. Therefore, they did well to at least get back a future asset (or cash) in return. The return of Mike Moustakas made Asche less important for KC.

Fantasy impact
Asche needs to be back in MLB before he becomes fantasy-relevant again. That said, keep him on the radar in case he becomes part of the first or third base mix in the Bronx.
