D-BACKS GET RELIEVER GOLDBERG FROM CHISOX
The Arizona Diamondbacks acquired pitcher Brad Goldberg from the Chicago White Sox for cash.
What does it give the Arizona Diamondbacks
Goldberg is a solid bullpen prospect who has shown good ability in the minor leagues to strike batters out. He should provide solid (and fairly MLB-ready) organizational depth for the Diamondbacks. They did not give up much here, either. This could work out well for them.
What does it give the Chicago White Sox
Chicago might have baseball's deepest group of young pitching prospects, and at 28 Goldberg was becoming one of the older guys in that bunch. With that in mind he was expendable, and the cash will help the ChiSox organization shore things up in other areas.
Fantasy impact
Goldberg isn't a top-tier prospect and he struggled during a fairly brief stint in the majors last season, so there's little to no fantasy impact with this deal.
