BREWERS ADD K-ROD FOR BULLPEN

The Milwaukee Brewers acquired pitcher Francisco Rodriguez and cash from the New York Mets for two players to be named later.

What does it give the Milwaukee Brewers
In Rodriguez, the Brewers add a quality closer who will most probably pitch in the eighth inning for his new team. John Axford should remain the closer, though now Milwaukee has a great backup option for the Central Division race.

What does it give the New York Mets
The cash-strapped Mets desperately wanted to unload 'K-Rod', since he would might triggered an expensive contract option for next season. Therefore, the Mets decided to unload him and pay a portion of his salary for two future assets.
