ASTROS ADD PITCHER PRESSLY

The Houston Astros acquired pitcher Ryan Pressly from the Minnesota Twins for pitcher Jorge Alcala and outfielder Gilberto Celestino.

What does it give the Houston Astros
For the Astros, adding Pressly to their bullpen is a nice move for their potential repeat as World Series champions. The 29-year-old right-hander is having a great 2018 campaign and may be used as Houston's eighth-inning man in front of new closer Hector Rondon.

What does it give the Minnesota Twins
For Minnesota, adding Alcala is a tremendous accomplishment. The 23-year-old right-hander was considered a top-10 prospect within Houston's deep farm system, so he instantly becomes one of the Twins' top young pitchers. He may be recalled to MLB before the end of '18. Celestino is also a quality prospect with the tools to eventually become an everyday outfielder for Minnesota. Overall, this was a tremendous trade for the Twins.

Fantasy impact
Pressly's holds opportunities may skyrocket in Houston, so his fantasy value gains a huge spike after this trade. The same can be said of Alcala and Celestino, who are now both in better situations for career advancement and should both be on the keeper radar. Alcala has value as an immediate pickup or as a mid-round draft pick in keeper-league drafts next year.
